End of 1998, Miki Mikron founded
Mikron 64.
Using an aged Casio-sampler and a synthesizer, he made his first
recordings. But he soon noticed that he did not like his own
singing-voice. Since it is one of Mikron 64's own premises to
do everything alone, including the singing, looking for a singer
was no option. Hence the idea came up to let a computer-programme
do the singing... Computer-voices
:: Using computers for singing creates new possibilities concerning
the voices' sex: it is unclear whether the voices are female
or male. Even when this does seem clear, it is still left open
whether the words are written from a male or female perspective.
This is how the voices' sex stops being an issue.
