=Jbhak + Frdhak Hanak, Paris. Duet
driven by two brothers.
Ddamage's work demonstrates some fine lo-fi hip-hop electronica
on their third album, and first for Planet Mu (Mike Paradinas'
label). dDamage is the first french band releasing an album
on Planet Mu. Since 2000, they have released two albums and
two singles on some french, swiss and japanese independent labels.
They also released a lot of tracks on various compilations (Active
Suspension, Angelika Koehlermann, V/vm Test Records, Tsunami-Addiction).
They also worked with the French hip-hop group TTC on their
collaborative EP "Trop-Singe".
They are now releasing their new album on Mike Paradinasılabel.
They play very energic electronic music, with some hip-hop influences,
churning wild guitar riffs, furious samples and analogical synth
noises (plus distorded screamings! do some people in Paris remember
their incredible intimate shows in Placard [heaphone] Festival?
ahah, we do :-)).
"diverse ride through their influences:
namely, Ultramagnetic MC's; Mudhoney; Hijack; Sparklehorse;
Prince; Tuff Crew and the Residents (among many others). This
is a new sound, post-rock, post hip hop and post everything
electronic - just using what instruments are to hand to express
themselves. (Mike Paradinas / Planet Mu's boss)
